Care Ministry

Greetings!

I hope and pray that all of you are doing well and staying healthy as we maneuver in this new way of life. I sure do miss celebrating the Lenten services and feasts with you all.

In Fr. Jerry’s emails lately, he has encouraged us to express our love for one another during this difficult time and I know many of you are. Nevertheless, Fr. Jerry and I would like to make you aware of a new ministry starting at Holy Resurrection that provides another way to express love and care to each other. We would like to introduce the Care Ministry.

The Care Ministry will focus on MVP-Most Vulnerable Parishioners. This ministry is another wonderful way to stay connected as a community. If you would like to get involved there are many ways to do so. Here are a few examples:

1.     Make meals or deliver groceries.
2.     Write cards.
3.     Prepare and deliver gifts during Christmas and Easter.
4.     Make phone calls or home visits.
5.     Help with yard work.

I know many of you are already doing some of this work, but I will be formalizing a list of contacts. This way when a need arises we can communicate effectively. If you would like to help, please contact me.

Finally, if you are reading this letter and you are one of those in need of assistance, this ministry is for you. There are many ways we can help. For example, if you have a health condition that discourages you from going out to get groceries due to the coronavirus, I would love to make sure you get what you need. I will be reaching out to those with potential identified needs and I can take requests at any time.

Love In Christ,

Fr. Steve
